Loved this time travel highlander book I thought the author did a good job both with the storyline and characters. Can't wait for the second one!!!
It was okay but I lost interest halfway and read the last chapter and the epilogue >.<
Book Review originally published here: iheartreading/book-touIn A Bridge through Time, we meet Ashley Moore, who has hit a few rough spots in life, and who starts seeing a mysterious man all of the sudden. She starts to wonder if she’s losing her mind, or if the man is real. Her quest leads her to Scotland, where she crosses a time-warp bridge and ends up in sixteenth-century Scotland. There she meets Cailin MacBayne, a handsome man who although no stranger to women, has for some reason always [...]
I really enjoyed "A Bridge Through Time. It is a pleasantly surprising light heart and predictable time travel fantasy romance. Ashley Moore is losing her mind. She keeps dreaming and seeing vision of a grey man. Ashley has just broken up with her boyfriend Dax. She decides to travel to Scotland being pulled by the vision the the grey eyed Scot. She is staying at a Inn The Thistle and Hive run by Edna Campbell a Witch!!I loved Edna and all the characters in the story. Once Jenna crosses a foggy [...]
I actually listened to the audible version of this book. This book is another 'Outlander Lite' story. We meet a young woman who is seeing a man, then he disapears. She finally follows him from America to Scotland. There she rents a room and is taken under the wing of the kindly inn keepers wife. When she goes on a picnic, everything she could ever need is packed with her by the kind woman,as if she knows what the outcome will be.It is a fun story and a good read.Paul Woodson narrates this beautifully.H [...]
If we read fiction to escape into other worlds, then Jennae Vale has written an intriguing world tailor-made for just such an escape. Like her protagonist, Ashley, we are initially teased with the elusive image of a handsome stranger, then led from America to Scotland only to be lured across a mist-veiled bridge into danger, romance, and life in a remote Scottish castle with one catch—it’s the sixteenth century. Readers who loved Diana Gabaldon will enjoy this entertaining tale with its lova [...]
I thought this book was a very enjoyable read. Left me wanting more. I can't wait for the sequel!!
This was a very good book about Ashley Moore, who has lost her job, and her boyfriend. She begins to have visions of a man, who is a highlander, right out, of the history books. She decides to follow her heart, and since her parents are both deceased, and she has a trust to live off of, she makes a rash decision for herself. She follows her feelings, and heads to Scotland. Her intuition just seems to lead her, and the vision appears more life like the farther she goes. She finally stops for the [...]
Since I am in a time travel mood I was searching for a new author to satisfy my wants.Unfortunately a Bridge through time did not rise to my expectations.A pretty simple story, a so-so delivery and not so memorable characters. I didn't care about the characters much because the author didn't build the relationship, the romance or the world properly. There were things that didn't make sent in the story especially how the people of the past accepted Ashley. The story was boring, predictable and clea [...]
Time travel + highlander = brilliant read!I adore time travel stories set in Scotland and this one did not disappoint! Amazing characters, good descriptive scenes, unique interesting story, with love, romance and of course fighting because duh it's the 16th century highlands! Highly recommend reading!!3.5 stars!
"Fun time travel romance story!" This is my first Jennae Vale's book. It's a fun time travel romance story. The narration is also good. Overall, this is a good listen. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
Thoroughly enjoy the time travel books and this was no different. Great character development with touch of mystery and average amount of romance. Good balance. Looking forward to more in this series.
Have it in Audio . It’s a Scottish time travel . Female is from San Francisco. Male is Grey Eyes (Scottish ) from the by gone era . The lady keeps on seeing the Scottish guy in her dreams and he always calls out to her . Does she follow him to the past or does he came to her
Enjoyable storyI choose this book because of the time travel concept. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
An easy read, good for a plane trip of several hours. Plot has some interesting twists as well as some predictable ones. A formulaic book, but no less interesting.
Time travelI got this book free. I am very glad I decided to download it. I am a big fan of time travel books. I am going to purchase the next book right away.
FantasticI really enjoyed this story and so looking forward to the next book. I love all the characters's a must read!
This was a fun read and I loved it. I immediately downloaded the next book in this series. I've already read books five and six and was curious as to how it all began. This was a wonderful love story and hard to put down.
Let’s face it. If I could time travel I would. The adventurous spirit of my inner-self thrives on the excitement of getting into a tight situation and being able to squeeze out of it. It was great fun following Ashley Moore on her escapade to Scotland and yes, beyond, to its past.I appreciate Paul Woodson’s narration style, particularly when there’s a brogue in the mix. Jennae Vale is a new author to me, and since I love reading about Scots, the Highlands, etc. it was natural to give this [...]
Ashley Moore was going through a very bad time. She was close to being evicted from her flat, lost her job, and dumped her boyfriend, Dax. To top this all off, she finds herself visited by premonitions, or maybe better said, apparitions of a large, muscular, and handsome stranger, complete with kilt; not a common sight is San Francisco. Her world seemed to be collapsing around her and decided a change of scenery would be very welcome. Money wasn’t a problem as she enjoyed a large inheritance f [...]
I was ready to put this one in the DNF pile when I first started it. I didn't like how it started and went full steam ahead. The story needed to slow down and a little more fleshing out at the beginning would have been great. Also, I didn't like the friend, Jenna's husband, and how he was childish with Ashley. Otherwise, I ended up liking this story. Ashley see's images of Cailin and eventually it leads her to Scotland and Edna. Edna is the "keeper" of the bridge that allows others to cross over [...]
A Bridge Through Time is an adventurous, romantic, time-travel story written by Jennae Vale, the first in her Thistle and Hive Series. The heroine Ashley Moore is the kind of woman you would want to have as a best friend, big hearted, honest and dependable. But her life isn’t easy. Her parents are dead and she has no siblings. Her husband is history and the only man who calls to her heart is a handsome, ghostly figure who appears in her dreams wearing a kilt. (Yes, if you like Highlander stori [...]
My new favorite time travel novelAshley Moore is going thru a hard time a bad break up, lost her and loosing her job. She was having vision of a sexy grey eyed highlander in a kilt. Her dear friend has let her stay with her and her husband but Ashley doesn't get along with him. So she has decided to go to Scotland and find Grey eyes. Upon arriving in Scotland she is drawn to a B&B owned and ran by Edna and her husband Agnes Campbell. While there see has more visions of grey eyes and while so [...]
I was provided with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The tale revolves around Ashley Moore. When some mysterious happenings lead her to Scotland, she encounters an array of totally remarkable characters - among which is the handsome Cailin MacBayne. The only irony here is that she has had to cross a time-warp bridge to reach where Cailin is. While Cailin gets captivated by Ashley, Ashely cannot help falling for Cailin, while at the same time tugging at the dilemma of [...]
When I first read the description of this book I was captivated by the idea of the storyline. The cover was also a key factor that caught my eye drawing me to the possibility of discovering a new author. Once I started reading the story, I began to get a sense of disappointment but continued on, hoping that I would be sucked into the characters, the time period and the overall romance. For me this book missed its mark. I felt like I was always on the surface of a really good book, but the author [...]
Loving all things Scottish, (especially beautiful men in kilts wielding Claymores… ohhhhhh!) I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading all of the series. That being said… this is not the first time-travel book I’ve read. This story was light enough that I wanted to continue reading until it was complete. I enjoyed the fact that there were no detailed historical events. As with some other tales, it sometime bogged me down and made me want to go on to another book.Loved the [...]
Omg, so cheesy. The summary had potential but the reality was too much to bear. Every interaction between characters was cheesy and shallow (Shallow as in it lacked any real depth or genuine feeling) It was just bad. Ina related side note, I can't stand when it's narrated in the main characters voice but then they like describe themselves as beautiful For example this is in the voice of Ashly, but one chapter starts with her beautiful amber eyes filled with tears So if that was out loud instead [...]
I have read other time travel series before and they all seem to be original in how and where the time travel occurs. I especially liked how Vale connects the modern day world with the one of the past. I really do not want to give that tidbit away but I felt it was a great touch to the key of time travel. Ashley and Cailin may be the main characters in this book, however, there is great potential in the others around them. Even though I can't wait to read Cormac's story, I really want Edna and A [...]
Romance , wonderful charactersAshley's life is felling apart. Her best friend suggests she relax and take a vacation. She travels to Scotland and that's where her adventure begins. Good plot, wonderful extended characters makes this a very enjoyable read. If you love time travel romances this is the one for you. Couldn't put this novel down. It is a complete novel so you will have closure. There are more in the series so if you didn't get enough with this one purchase another.
Great Time Travel Find! This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it! Ms. Vale tells a great story. Loved the characters and there was such detail in the settings I felt like I was transported through time and living the story. The tale of Ashley and Cailin was woven in such a way as to keep the reader guessing with many twists and turns. I will definitely be reading the other books in the series.
