Reviewed for herding cats & burning soup.: amzn/1jIDKZDThis. Lotta this. I can't even with an actual review. So we'll do what we must. Break Me Down reading went a little something like this.[Status Update] 6/2 Bad things. I would do bad things for a copy of this. lol Can't wait![Status Update] 9/23 Woohoo! It's in my greedy little hands! Come to mama! Love me some Roni Loren!oh. We've got a Domme. Interesting. That's not usually my thing butokay. Samantha seems like a cool chick. I'm down. [...]
Hot damn, Break Me Down was good! I haven’t read all of the books in Loving on the Edge series yet, but this is definitely one of my favorites.I love all the different relationship and kink dynamics Loren writes about, but the ones featuring a Domme tops them all. So to speak. Especially when her counterpart is an alpha-male type. Even more so when he’s a challenge. And that’s what I got with Samantha and Gibson. Both are dominant or so Gibson thinks he is. Insert evil grin here. These two [...]
The role of the domme is one that has always fascinated me. But, there aren't many stories featuring them. We women love the uber-alpha males who dominate in the bedroom, so that seems to be what most erotica authors write about. But, a dominant female and a submissive male is a truly unique relationship and completely fascinating. Leave it to Roni Loren to write about this and to do it well. Gibson has always fancied himself a dom, but isn't ready to admit to anyone that he has fantasies about [...]
Roni Loren is quickly becoming a go-to favorite of mine. Her style of writing gives a sweet and emotional story with an edge of erotic ‘Oh, pass me a fan, can you see my blush, oh hell, did I just read that in public?’ steaminess. If my husband knew how much I enjoyed reading the domination scenes in this book he might never let me back in our bedor he may never let me out. Hmmm What really made this a five star read, though, was how much I cared about the characters and their story beyond t [...]
*4.5 stars*I don't read a lot of books with BDSM and when I do they feature Doms and not Dommes because I am in no way comfortable reading about that That said, I thought this was BRILLIANT!!! Not going to lie, it still made me a tad uncomfortable, but this was so bloody EMOTIONAL and HAWT and I absolutely LOVED Gibson!!!*ARC courtesy of Netgalley and Berkley*
ARC provided in exchange of an honest reviewReview original post:collectorofbookboyfriends/ok review: 4 domme stars!!!A book that literally caught me deliciously off guard! I never thought that I would enjoy a book with this subjet so much. And I’m telling this not because I have something against female domination but, since it’s the first one I read with a domme, I was kind of held back a bit. But it totally did worth it reading it….When I first read the blurb, I was instantly intrigued [...]
This review was originally posted on Delighted ReaderSamantha Dunbar and Gibson Andrews shared a moment of revelation once upon a time when Gibson was playing sub while training Sam on using a whip. He liked it a lot more than he let on and they shared a kiss. But Gibson is a Dom right? So he runs from a situation that makes him feel bad and would make him seem weak.Months later Sam is attacked after hours at a bar she manages. Already having vacation planned, she heads out early to hide and li [...]
Thank you to INTERMIX and Netgalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Break Me Down is my first read from Roni Loren. It’s part of the Loving on the Edge series, and I have to admit to feeling as though I was missing something. Sam and Gibson had quite the history, but I don’t feel like it was fleshed out enough in this installment. I wonder if there’s more to their story in Gibson’s step-brother’s story, which is an earlier book in this series.I really [...]
3.5 Stars “Just because you wanted something, didn’t mean you got to have it”I went into Break Me Down blindly. I’ve heard of Roni Loren’s work but I have never read her until now. I love a good smutty read but I don’t often read a BDSM books, not because there is anything wrong with them, but they aren’t always my thing. This novella surprised me though. The story was well written, sexy, taboo, and I was enthralled by the story.I’ve never read a book about a female domme, so I w [...]
WOW. Break Me Down is scorching hot! If you're looking for a great story about a male submissive and female Domme, then this is definitely the story for you. Roni Loren's writing sucked me in from the very beginning and kept me hanging on until the very end. Although Break Me Down isn't a full-length novel, it still feels like it is. Roni does an amazing job building her characters and the challenges between them. Each chapter is well written and meaty with plenty to keep you engaged. It also he [...]
DNF at 54%This reads like the original inspiration to this travesty, Natural Law. At least the prose in this version doesn't make one's eyes bleed. Nonetheless, it's a bad tale. Why are so many femdom stories predicated upon the idea of breaking a man? That's pejorative to male submission. So a real man doesn't naturally, happily submit? It must be coerced? And from whence did the fallacious idea of dominance being about breaking people come? Should Doms/Dommes be turned on by people who aren't [...]
There is nothing I love more than a Roni Loren read. However, this one just did not do it for me the way all her other books do. It came down to one character (and my reading preferences): Samantha. I just am not huge into Domme stories, and while sometimes when my favorite authors write them they work, I just didn't click with Sam's character.Gibson, however, I adored as a character. What a great guy! I think there is no such thing as a Roni Loren man that isn't the definition of awesome. One o [...]
Not far to go from reality and yet so far awayI knew this one story was going to hit home before I picked it up just from watching Sam and Gibson interact in the previous Loving on the Edge novels. Even so, I came with an open mind and ready to see where Roni would take us with these two. I knew I was going to connect with Sam. What I didn’t realize is just how much I would connect with Gibson. In fact, that connection pretty much blew me away. I’ve loved all of this series, but I have to sa [...]
Didn't really know what to expect and confess to being tentative going into this latest installment of the Loving on Edge series. You see it is a man struggling with his submissive nature and a woman who refuses to hide who she is ever again. They had a moment and then disaster struck. Oh, and there's moreey have dark pasts. This is a novella between books eight and nine and tackles two minor characters from earlier in the series, Gibson and Sam. It's probably a good idea to read the series in or [...]
Break Me Down is a story between a Domme and a sub who thinks he's a Dom. Gibson had been training Sam in the ways of being a Domme when things got a little weird and lines were crossed. You see, Gibson is known at The Ranch as being a cocky Dom. So, when being the bottom in a scene for Sam to learn the ins and outs of her role as a Domme, he's not supposed to enjoy the pain from her whip, let alone be aroused by it. Not wanting to admit his inner cravings he hightails it out of there and disapp [...]
I get so freaking giddy every time a Roni Loren book shows up on my iPad. With the Loving on the Edge series, Ms. Loren has quickly become one of my favorite erotic romance authors out there. With every new book, she gives us page after page of sexy goodness mixed with an emotional pull that you can't get rid of, nor would you want to. Sam and Gibson's story was incredible. I pretty much say that with all of these characters, but Sam and Gibson's push/pull relationship just gutted me, made me cr [...]
Nominated for a 2016 RITA Award in the category Erotic Romance! In the BDSM world, it's all about who's got the control, and when you have two people trying to be on top it's going to make for an intense and dramatic story. This is especially true if one of those people is realizing that their role as a Dominant might be masking their true desire. Such is the case with Samantha and Gibson. Though Gibson trained Sam as a Domme, he's never felt more alive than when he played with her as a submissi [...]
Break Me Down is yet another novella by Roni Loren that showcases her amazing writing and storytelling and does a profound job of looking at the human spirit. At the heart of it is the question of trust, which is a big thing in the BD/sm lifestyle as depicted in her Loving On the Edge series. It shouldn’t be surprising that a story about BD/sm can go so deep into the human psyche and it's not surprising to me at all that Roni Loren writes this story with such keen understanding and compassion. [...]
I'm a big fan of Roni Loren & I received this as an ARC for an honest review from Net Galley. I enjoyed this book, it's underlying story of the trust needed to bring true happiness is wonderful. Samantha & Gibson are truly 2 people who have had a shitty past, with Sam growing up in foster care & never being adopted out of it & Gibson with a hard, miserable, drunk bully of a father who beat him. The roles are reversed in this story where normally the dominant is male but Samantha [...]
Welp. Break Me Down may as well be subtitled "I Did the Prep Work Guys, You're Welcome" because this was a hot one. Every time I read a Loving On the Edge novel I know I'd better be prepared and this installment was no exception. I don't remember much about Gibson and Samantha from earlier instalments in the series, other than Gib was an excellent brother to Kade (my fav), but wow, these two make a huge impression. The impression they made was not only with the sexual side to the relationship, b [...]
This is one of the books on my Kindle that I've been reading forever but never finished. Had I been in a better headspace (I'm in a terrible reading slump, boo) I would have given this a higher rating but a 3 star would have to do with this one. I love Roni Loren's writing, but I was so disconnected with the story and characters, so it's not you, book, it's me.The last 15% or so broke me, it was so beautiful.
Roni Loren can do no wrong. Another kickass story with great characters, believable psychology, hot sex, and the list goes on.For all you Pike fans - if you thought he was adorable before, wait until his appearance in BmD. I was laughing out loud - like gut clutching laughter that drew stares. I liked him before, but Pike is officially my newest book boyfriend.Another must read in the Loving on the Edge series!!

4 Need to be broken stars! Source: eARC for Honest Review Courtesy of Intermix | Penguin GroupOnce again Roni Loren did NOT disappoint with her latest novella. We meet Gibson throughout the series and know he's got some inner demons. We also know that he adores his friend, Sam. So much that he helps her train to be the dominate she needs to be, by being her bottom."I'm not trying to be her sub. I'm just trying to be there for her." Grant eyed him. "Sometimes the line between those two c [...]
Roni Loren does it again, another great book. But only three stars? Well, I am getting picky in my old age. What was great about this book was that it explored the female domme which I was starting to think was a very rare breed. I thought Sam the heroine was kickass. I wanted to be her. She is strong and confident which I really liked. She doesn't get shy and tongue twisted, she knows what she wants. And she wears thigh high boots! I also enjoyed the storyline which was centred around Gib, the [...]
I really do love this author. This book was not my favorite. The idea that Gibson had issues dating back from his childhood that prohibited him from being who he really was, a submissive and how his issues and Sam's issues are similar made the plot interesting. I believe I may have been in the wrong frame of mind to read this so therefore I am not as into it as I usually am. Still a good read and this time we did not focus on the ranch so much as we did on the couple and their issues.
